The Partners in Education program is designed to create a close, working relationship between a community organization/business and an area school. The purpose of this program is to enrich and expand the educational opportunities of area students while fostering a deeper understanding of the school system within the community.
Through the establishment of personal relationships between community leaders and educators, the goal of Partners in Education is to create a spirit of involvement that has a positive impact on area school districts. This involvement helps develop the local school environment into a powerful educational setting where community members are working actively with students.
Farmers' Electric Cooperative partners with seven area schools. Some of the topics covered during monthly visits include electrical safety, energy efficiency, map reading, and career opportunities.
